Client service-driven consultant strengthens the Lockton Midwest business
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 1, 2018 – Jonathan Medalie has helped employers build their benefits and wellness programs for the past 20 years. His involvement has resulted in record sales and retention levels for the health plans. Today, he brings that same client-first attitude to the Lockton office in Nashville, which is part of Lockton’s Midwest operation.
“Jonathan’s employee benefits expertise and commitment to client service align perfectly with Lockton’s culture,” said Peter Caine, chief operating officer of Lockton Midwest. “As we expand our business in Nashville, clients can be confident that Jonathan’s advice will align with their goals and their employee benefits needs.”
Medalie has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Indiana, Nevada, Idaho, and Tennessee. During his time with Blue Cross Blue Shield, he had experience with legal, underwriting, medical management, pharmacy, operations, business engineering, corporate communications, network providers and marketing. Most recently, Medalie worked for Aon out of Chicago leading retirement for their public-sector business.
“We are thrilled to have Jonathan join Lockton as we grow our Nashville team,” said Kevin McDaniel, president of Lockton's Midwest expansion. “He helps clients navigate the complex waters of employee benefits while working with our expert teams to solve their most pressing business challenges.”
He started his career in 1998 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, when insurers where leaving the state because of new healthcare reform provisions. During this challenging period, only two insurers remained in Kentucky. He applied his expertise and knowledge to help employers build strategies for their business and their employees. While he works on much larger national accounts today, Medalie still brings that same analytical, customer-driven mindset to the table.
“With Lockton’s vast array of expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, we have the resources and freedom to drive impactful solutions and outcomes for our clients,” Medalie said. “I look forward to building relationships and becoming a partner for employers looking for new and effective solutions.”
Medalie was one of 50 leaders to graduate from the WellPoint Leadership Development Enrichment Program as part of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he learned collaborative leadership skills for global solutions. He is also a graduate of the University of Evansville in Indiana and Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management, Executive Leadership Development Program.
